Join us as
Welcome to The Usual, the design hotel and F&B hotspot you’ve been waiting for. Our incredible hotel offers more than just accommodation – it provides a warm and inviting atmosphere where guests are treated like friends. Join us in making more conscious travel The Usual.
In April 2024, we opened our first two hotels in Rotterdam and Brussels and have several more in the purchase phase. For our office in The Hague / Amsterdam, we are looking for someone to take on a graduation assignment in our Build & Development department, with a focus on construction cost model optimization for hotel development.
Be you with us
We're committed to being a hotel that won’t treat the planet like a hotel. We think that travel can be a force for good. Our solution-oriented group of optimists is committed to offering welcoming city trips that empower and inspire our guests, our colleagues, and the locals to do good, every step of the way.
At our workplace, we foster an empowering environment where individuals are encouraged to unleash their full potential. Our team embraces a warm and welcoming atmosphere, creating a sense of belonging and support for everyone. Collaboration is at the heart of our culture, as we believe that great achievements are made through teamwork and shared ideas. We are a game-changing company, constantly pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo of traditional hospitality. Join us and experience a workplace where being your authentic self is celebrated.
The role
Based on data from our previous hotel developments, we have built a construction cost model in Excel to support the financial analysis of new hotel acquisition projects. This model helps us understand, estimate, and benchmark build-out costs. However, it’s still a work in progress.
Your challenge will be to:
- Optimize and improve the structure and logic of the current Excel-based model
- Streamline and integrate data from other development projects
- Make the model user-friendly and scalable for future hotel projects
- Set it up so it remains easily updatable with new market data over time
This internship and/or graduation assignment offers a deep dive into real estate development, construction cost analysis, and the hospitality industry from the inside out.
How we work
We strive for an open, honest, and conscientious workplace where essential quality is key, and these values play a vital role for everyone to be and become who they aspire to be. No path walked is the same, we want to hear people’s passion and create careers around people’s needs as opposed to fitting people into a specific job. There is freedom for growth, to make a change, and to define our culture together.
